This software is useless, the support is non-existent from both ends and no fix in the horizon WD used to have simple solid software with their drives now this junk. No information provided about that either. Did the image of the operating system partition (C :) for the hard disk2, made a boot disk with Acronis. Acronis True Image WD edition is A WASTE OF TIME Community Archives Other Software & Accessories. in recovering only 98GB out of 450GB of my files. In the end Acronis was apparently successful. Recovery of those files gave me - again - plenty of random error messages Of course there is just another random error message coming up instead. Acronis seemed unable to start the recovery, probably because the file was "hidden" and set to "read only". The backup finished, but it took way tooooooo long. Doing a folder backup, it came up with lots of errors of "unreadable" files which were perfectly readable in explorer We're talking about a software that has been around for like 15+ years, it should be able to cover the basics. Now don't go and tell me that the 2019 is probably better.

and this is the fist major issue I have faced My recent upgrade to TI-2017 (from a very trusty TI-2013) is beacuase of problems with Windows 10 'Creators' edition. I have been using Acronis for many years from version 11 (2008). Yesterday I decided to give it another go. A second attempt of selecting just the missing folder copied succesfully - as did copying the single file. It became obvious that Acronis become just another bloated and useless overpriced software. I used it for imaging my C: drive for quick recovery. Now I've used Acronis way in the past when it still worked. This might represent common knowledge for the more advanced users here (most of you are using linux anyways), but I feel like I need to share my experience here. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context.
